The new economy is here. And most people’s money mindset is stuck in the past.
There’s something I’ve been jamming on lately.
Money.
Yeah, that thing we all think about but rarely talk about honestly. The thing that most people either obsess over or pretend doesn’t matter, while secretly stressing about it every night like it’s a toxic ex they never quite got over.
I’m not immune. Money has been a teacher, a mirror, and at times, a full-on mindf*ck in my life. And as I’ve looked deeper, I’ve noticed a pattern:
Most people’s relationship with money isn’t based on clarity. It’s based on survival.
And in today’s world, where income is fluid, careers are nonlinear, and the traditional path is crumbling, that survival mode doesn’t cut it anymore.
Let’s unpack this.
We’re Not in the Old World Anymore, Toto
For most of modern history, income was fixed.
You got a job. That job paid you a salary. That salary hit your account every two weeks like clockwork. You knew how much was coming in, so you knew how much you could spend. Simple.
Predictable.
Safe.
And completely gone.
Now? Welcome to the jungle.
We’re living in the most financially fluid time in human history.
You can make zero dollars one month and fifty grand the next.
You can launch a product from a hammock in Costa Rica.
You can make rent off affiliate links, crypto trading, digital art, or just being really good at saying what other people are afraid to say on Instagram.
There are more ways to earn money than ever before.
And also more ways to spend it.
Which means more decisions. More emotion. More pressure.
Your Nervous System Wasn’t Designed for This Many Choices
Here’s some context.
In the 1970s, people saw between 500 and 1,600 ads a day.
Today? Somewhere between 6,000 and 10,000.
That’s not a typo. Ten thousand messages a day, all trying to grab your attention.
And those ads aren’t just selling you a product. They’re selling you a feeling. A status. A story about what your life should look like.
What success should look like.
What being a high value man or empowered woman or six-figure coach or conscious creator should feel like.
It’s spiritual whiplash.
And if you’re not grounded in who you are and what your money is for, you’ll end up chasing someone else’s version of success with a credit card you shouldn’t be using.
Money Isn’t the Problem. Your Story About It Is.
Here’s where it gets juicy.
Most people aren’t dealing with money.
They’re dealing with their beliefs about money.
Beliefs that were handed down unconsciously.
Money doesn’t grow on trees.
Rich people are greedy.
You gotta hustle 24/7 to get ahead.
You have to suffer to earn.
Ever stop and ask if those beliefs are even true?
Ever ask where you learned them?
Your nervous system is carrying stories from your parents, your culture, your religion, and whatever internet guru shouted the loudest in your feed last week.
And here’s the dangerous part. Most people never update those stories.
They stay stuck in outdated scripts that were never theirs to begin with.
So they undercharge.
They avoid looking at their bank account.
They sabotage launches.
They feel guilt for wanting to earn more.
Or shame for enjoying what they already have.
The Currency of Consciousness
What I’ve learned is this.
Money amplifies who you already are.
It reveals your level of self-trust.
Your ability to hold uncertainty.
Your patterns around power, worth, and receiving.
Money is neutral.
Your energy around it? Not so much.
So if you want to evolve financially, you have to evolve emotionally, psychologically, and somatically.
You can’t just change your bank balance.
You have to change your relationship to money itself.
What a Healthy Relationship With Money Looks Like
Let’s keep this practical. Here’s what I see in people who have a clean, conscious relationship with money.
Clarity
They know their numbers. They track what’s coming in and going out. They don’t hide from reality.
Sufficiency
They feel enough before they hit their next goal. They aren’t chasing dopamine or validation through spending.
Agency
They make intentional decisions about how they earn, save, and invest, instead of reacting from fear or fantasy.
Detachment
They use money as a tool. Not an identity. Not a crutch. Not a measurement of their worth as a human being.
You can’t fake this.
You can’t affirm your way into financial health.
You have to do the reps.
Tactical Shifts That Actually Change the Game
Here are some real tools I’ve used or recommend to clients in this space.
Profit First
A cash flow system that ensures you pay yourself first before the bills and the tax man.
Weekly Money Flow Sessions
Check your accounts. Set intentions. Celebrate what’s flowing in. Clear what feels stuck.
Wealth Consciousness Journaling
Write daily about your current relationship with money and what you want to shift. This brings unconscious beliefs to the surface.
Somatic Money Work
Feel the sensations in your body when you think about money. Tight chest? Sinking stomach? That’s the work.
Digital Detox
Unfollow people who make you feel behind. Limit ad exposure. Create space to hear your own voice again.
Final Truth: The Revolution Isn’t Financial. It’s Identity-Based.
We’re all writing new scripts in real time.
You don’t have to be perfect with money. But you do have to be awake.
Because the old world taught us how to earn a paycheck.
This one asks us to create our own value, define our own enough, and hold ourselves with enough emotional strength to not get swallowed by the noise.
This isn’t just about dollars. It’s about sovereignty.
It’s about being the kind of person who isn’t owned by their bank balance.
Who knows how to make money without selling their soul.
Who sees money as a tool, not a trigger.
That’s what I want for you.
That’s what I’m working on for myself.
And if that’s the kind of relationship with money you’re craving, stick around.
We’re just getting started.
